Jan Stapenhorst, born 1973, is the founder and managing owner of TRITON MARINE - Transport Risks Consultants GmbH.
Jan built his expertise on almost 2 decades of working in shipping, project and heavy transport, loss prevention, loss assessment, loss mitigation as well as consultancy of customers in technical transport issues and transport risk management.

Following his nautical studies Jan sailed as deck officer up to vessel’s command on heavy lift ships before joining Germany’s largest Marine & Cargo Survey company as Marine Surveyor in Bremen. He was promoted head of their marine and project department in 2009 and led the department until the foundation of TRITON MARINE.

In addition to his general skills concerning project and heavy cargo Jan has acquired unique expertise in the area of yacht transportation and yacht hull and machinery in the last decade.

Jan is consulted on a regular basis when it comes to assess and to control transport solutions for high valuable yachts.
